Orthodontics in Montgomery, Alabama

An orthodontist and a lab technician, in the same office

Dr. Jyoti Bhargava plans and checks your treatment. Clyde Burton makes the aligners, retainers and appliances in our lab. For teens and adults whose bite needs work and who care how the result looks.

Who does each part

Alignment and finishing, in two lanes

Every step has a name beside it. The orthodontist's lane is the plan and the checks. The lab's lane is the parts. Every mouth is different, so no step comes with a promised result.

The lab

The lab is down the hall, not across the country

Most aligners and retainers are made at a far-off lab from a scan sent by email. Here, Clyde works in the next room. When a tray doesn't seat or a retainer rubs, Dr. Bhargava walks it to him and you usually wait to hear the answer.

She still plans every movement and checks every visit. Clyde builds what she plans.

  • One scan, one plan, one office

  • Parts adjusted by the person who made them

  • Dr. Bhargava approves each part before it reaches you

Treatment

What we treat, and with what

Each page says what happens, what to expect and how it's billed.

  1. The full path from scan to retainer, with who does each step.

  2. Brackets and wires, in metal or ceramic, for teens and adults.

  3. Removable trays made in our lab from your own scan.

  4. Fixed or removable, made here and checked at every visit that follows.

  5. Moving teeth first, so any cosmetic work fits where they end up.

Before you call

More answers are on the questions page.

Do you take my insurance?

It depends on the plan. How fees work lists the plan types we work with and says which we file claims for. Many dental plans carry a separate orthodontic benefit; Toya will check yours with you before treatment starts.

What if I don't have insurance?

We give you a written estimate before treatment starts, whether you have insurance or not. It lists what is included, so you know the fee before you decide.

Will it hurt?

Teeth are often sore for a few days after a fitting or a change of aligners. Most visits need no numbing. Tell us if you need a break and we'll stop.

Who makes my aligners and retainers?

Clyde Burton does, in our own lab, from your scan and Dr. Bhargava's plan. She approves each part before it reaches you.

How long does treatment take?

It usually runs between 12 and 30 months, depending on what needs to move and on how closely the appliance is worn. Dr. Bhargava gives you your own range at the first visit.

What if a wire or bracket breaks?

Call the office. Loose parts are common and we'll tell you whether it can wait for your next visit. For swelling, bleeding that won't stop or trouble breathing or swallowing, call 911.

A first visit is a talk, an exam and a written plan. It is not a commitment to treatment.
