Treatment

Bite and smile together

Sometimes the bite needs correcting and the look of your teeth matters to you too. We move teeth first, because cosmetic work such as veneers or tooth-colored fillings suits teeth that are already in their final place. Dr. Bhargava doesn't do that cosmetic work. She shares a written plan with your general dentist, who does.

  • Teeth moved first

  • A shared plan with your dentist

  • Cosmetic work stays with your dentist

What happens

Two offices, one sequence. The order matters more than the pace.

  1. 01

Step 1: Your goals, in writing

At the first visit Dr. Bhargava asks what you'd change about how your teeth look and how they feel when you bite. She writes both down.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Moving teeth

Treatment follows the alignment plan, with braces or aligners. Clyde makes the parts, and she checks each stage.

  3. 03

Step 3: Handing over to your dentist

When teeth are in place, she sends your general dentist the plan and the finished position. Your dentist tells you what cosmetic work makes sense and what it involves.

  4. 04

Step 4: Retainers while you finish

Retainers keep teeth where they are while any cosmetic work is planned. Tell us about work in progress, so retainers are made to fit.

Before you decide

  • Comfort

The orthodontic part feels like any other orthodontic care: pressure and soreness for a few days after changes. Your dentist explains comfort for the cosmetic part.

  • If you wait

Cosmetic work done before teeth move may need redoing afterward. If you've already had some, tell us at the first visit so the plan accounts for it.

  • Risks and after-care

Orthodontic risks are the same as for any treatment: marked teeth if cleaning slips, root shortening in some patients, and drifting without retainers. Your dentist explains the risks of cosmetic work.

  • How it's billed

You get a written estimate before treatment starts. It lists what is included and what isn't, and how your plan's orthodontic benefit may apply. We never quote a fee over email or in a form.

Questions about bite and smile together

Do you place veneers?

No. Your general dentist does. We move teeth into place first and send the plan to your dentist.

Do I need a general dentist?

Yes, and we'll work with yours. If you don't have one, ask the office for a few names.

Can I have cosmetic work during treatment?

Sometimes small things, with your dentist's agreement. Tell us before you start anything.

Who pays for what?

Each office bills for its own work. Our written estimate covers only orthodontic treatment.

Ask how the two plans fit

Bring any notes from your dentist to the first visit and we'll work from them.
