How fees work
Orthodontic fees depend on your treatment and your plan. Here is how paying works, in the order patients usually ask.
Insurance we work with
We work with some plans and not others, and the practice's own list is shown on this page. Many dental plans have a separate orthodontic benefit, often with a lifetime maximum, and teen and adult coverage can differ. Medicaid and CHIP: the practice says here whether it takes them.

If you pay yourself
Without insurance, or beyond what your plan pays, you pay for treatment yourself. You get the fee for the whole of treatment in writing before you start. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Receipts for reimbursement
If your plan reimburses you instead of paying us, we give you an itemized statement of what you paid, so you can send it in. Whether the plan pays, and how much, is the plan's decision.

An estimate in advance
You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you're paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you schedule or whenever you ask. It lists what is included and what isn't.

Checking your benefits
Toya checks your plan's orthodontic benefit before your first visit if you give us the plan's name, and again before treatment starts. What a plan says it covers is an estimate until it pays.

What the first visit includes
About an hour: a talk, an exam, a scan, and a written plan. X-rays only if Dr. Bhargava needs them. Fill in your health history on our private patient portal, not by email or in the contact form.

Ask before you come
Toya can explain how a plan's orthodontic benefit usually works, and tell you what to bring to the first visit.
